I can't believe it's 35 years since I sold my first original pencil sketch.

So this summer, I’d like to offer collectors, old and new, a celebratory saving of 35% on all original paintings and pencil drawings.

My paintings and drawings seem to catch the imagination of many people whose childhood memories of the post industrial era of the 50s, 60s and 70s relate to their hard working parents and grandparents.

I often paint my characters viewed from the rear and this, by chance, allows the viewer to project their own Mams, Dads, Aunties and Uncles into the picture.

My own memories as a wee boy in a hand-knitted balaclava are of watching my dad head off to work.

And recollections of childhood holidays and more recent adventures have inspired me to paint Scotland’s marvellous landscapes and Northumberland’s dramatic seascapes.
