‘Reflections on the Shore, Bamburgh’ is an original oil painting by Alexander Millar.

“I’m drawn more and more to the Northumberland coast, particularly on days when the weather is changeable.

I live only a few minutes drive from the coast, so when the light changes and the wind picks up, I  jump in the car with my trusty easel and paints - and head for the seaside!

The light in the North Sea sky changes minute by minute, so I work fast to capture that special light and those particular hues. I think that’s why this painting has more of an impressionistic feel to it.

‘Reflections on the Shore, Bamburgh’  is in a dramatic, ivory coloured frame with a burnished gold slip. It can be viewed in our Newcastle Gallery on Grey Street. For more information email info@alexandermillar.com .
