Windmills of your Mind is a signed, limited edition print of the original oil painting by Alexander Millar.

"It takes a leap of imagination to associate the haunting 1960s hit, with an image of my folks going to the local fair.

Maybe to a wee boy, the fun fair was as surreal as this static-filled song that came over the airwaves from Radio Caroline on summer evenings a long time ago.

I chose the song 'Windmills of your Mind, which was in the first version of The Thomas Crown Affair one as the title of this artwork.

Both it and the re-make are two of my favourite films of all time.

The original film featured Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway in the lead roles and the remake, which was equally good, had Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo playing those parts.

This painting is a tribute to my Mum, Dad, Nana and Papa as they both were mirror images of each other and had an equal share of a sense of humour and fun.

Whenever they visited the distant shores of Largs beside the sea, a distance of around ten miles from Kilmarnock (as far as my family would dare to venture), they would inevitably come back with either a bucket and spade or a windmill."
