"This is a print of an original I was commissioned to paint. The client explained how he liked to look into a painting and imagine the life stories of any character therein.
So, the title seemed pretty easy to come up with.
What I didn’t know was that in the UK, the West End in many towns and cities became the posher part in the Victorian era - as it was upwind of the factories, the smoke and us poor working folk!"
