"Back in the day, many working class lads growing up saw a prosperous future in professional football. And over the years I've heard old fellas tell me about their big chance when they had a trial for the local professional team.

However more often than not everyday life took over, a wage had to be earned and a family had to be looked after.

I still imagine my 'gadgies' having a kick about and re-living the dreams of their youth."
