"Since the mountains of Skye featured in Game of Thrones, everybody seems to be heading there. And an essential stop en-route is the ‘shortbread-tin-view’ of Eilean Donan Castle.

At the junction of three sea lochs, the texture and mood of its fortified walls constantly change in that unique light from the sky and from the surrounding water.  

Whenever I head north and west into the Highlands, I have to stop and paint this iconic scene."
