'Little Gems' are a mixture of original landscapes and 'gadgie' characters that are painted on a smaller scale than Alexander Millar's usual canvas sizes.

"When I was a wee boy, the pub in the village fascinated me.

High, frosted glass windows blocked  the prying eyes of us kids.

And women would be tolerated in the Lounge or Snug for a few hours on a Saturday night - as the pub was almost exclusively for the menfolk.

Sometimes the revellers would spill out onto the street, carrying their preferred tipple with them."
