This is an artwork of the River Clyde. the viewpoint of the artist is from downriver of the city looking back upstream . In the lower third of the painting is the dark River Clyde, with the shadowy shapes of Finneston Crane on the north bank , the 'Squinty' Bridge straight ahead and modern flats on the south bank. The image is dominated by a large cloud-laden sky that has subtle hues of almost every colour - the artist has captured how the light reflect differently on the clouds at varying heights.
