"Visitors to Loch Lomond can't believe how close it is to Glasgow, and it's a common thing for Glasgow folks to drive out to Loch Lomond on a summer evening to breath in the Highland air (despite the midgies).

When I visit, I tend to spend more time staying at a lovely hotel whose room balconies are right on the sandy/shingle beach at Luss. When the day trippers head home and there's a summer evening stillness over the Loch, it's just magical."
