Angel of Wonder is an original painting by Alexander Millar.
"Some years ago I painted my own tribute to The Angel of the North.
Instead of the sleek, minimal shape of the Anthony Gormley artwork, my 'gadgie' angel had his signature, baggy, work suit and flat cap. Instead of arms (or wings) outstretched, he had his window cleaner's ladder across his shoulders.
After the last couple of tough years for all of us, I decided to recreate this 'gadgie' Angel looking towards colourful vistas that I think bring some pleasure, joy and hope for the future.
Angel of Wonder is framed in a dramatic dark brown/black/silver distressed frame with silver slip and can be viewed in our Newcastle Gallery. For more infomation please email Billy Couper info@alexandermillar.com
