"When I moved to Newcastle from Scotland, Tyneside like the Clydeside, was at the end of a great shipbuilding era.
Although the last ship launched at Swan Hunter may not have been on this scale or of this type, in my imagination it has grown in size to reflect its significance to the people of Newcastle and Gateshead.
