Tide and Time

Coming Soon, Tide and Time

I will be appearing and exhibiting a new collection of work inspired by Aberdeen, at The Chester Hotel this November. Tide and Time is a collection of industry-scapes (is that a real word?) which I’ve painted in tribute to the industrial heritage of Aberdeen, as an oil city, dubbed the ‘Oil Capital of Europe’ it is known worldwide, but it was once also a mill city, a ship-building city, a quarrying city and a fishing city.

These industries and the men and women who worked in them are the subjects of this new collection.

I will share previews of the new work over the next couple of months, go ahead and Like the Alexander Millar Fine Art Facebook page so you don’t miss out!

Appearance in Edinburgh

Edinburgh Appearance

Thank you to everyone who came along to my Edinburgh appearance this weekend. It’s always great to visit Breeze Art Gallery and to be back in the bosom of my Scottish pals.

Here I am, having just finished a painting live event (hence the half finished canvas in the background) signing a print for a collector.

Looking forward to coming back soon!

New Exhibitions

New Alexander Millar Exhibitions

I’m working on new exhibitions at the moment, which I wish I could tell you more about, but I’m under strict instructions to keep it under my hat, for now anyway…

I can say though, that if you’re in Aberdeen (Scotland) or New York (USA), then I might be seeing you very soon. I’m working on some new pieces on the ‘working man’ theme, as well as some industrial scenes for an exhibition in Aberdeen later this year, and something absolutely new but still ‘working man’ for New York City…

Sign up to the newsletter and I’ll make sure I tell you more when I can!
