"I get so much feedback on my 'gadgies' - people say that these characters make them smile.
Well while painting them I also smile, with memories of hard-working men and women from that post-war era having a bit of fun and a laugh.
Many were old before their time, but flashes of their inner child would occasionally appear - like sun breaking through the clouds!"
